For foreigners interested in peruvian prehistory Yachay Wasi has opened a program for the analysis of Peruvian archaeological objects in ceramic, textiles and metals as well as colonial easel painting. Small groups participate in two week theoretical and practical courses in Lima, at the Institute´s laboratories and workshops as well as the Cajamarquilla archaeological project. Course includes visits to other projects and museums.


ANCIENT PERUVIAN CERAMIC COURSE
Two week course (afternoons) covering ancient manufacturing techniques, style and iconography and the conservation of Precolumbian ceramics. Staff includes archaeologists, traditional pottery artisans, conservators.

ANCIENT PERUVIAN TEXTILE COURSE
Two week course (mornings) on ancient weaving techniques, natural dyes, style and iconography, and conservation of Pre-Columbian textiles.

Both courses includes visits to private collections, museums and artisan traditional workshops.

Archaeological material for workshops comes from the Institute's archaeological project at Cajamarquilla as well as from other excavation sites and museums. Optional courses available on TRADICIONAL TECHNIQUES AND NATURAL DYES USED IN TEXTILE AND POTTERY MANUFACTURE.
